It is one of the stock indexes for ESG investments adopted by the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) of Japan and is based on the MSCI Japan IMI Index. The index comprises companies that excel in ESG evaluations.

Morningstar Japan ex-REIT Gender Diversity Tilt Index (GenDi J) An index provided by Morningstar based on the evaluation of gender diversity efforts using the Equileap Gender Equality Scorecard. As of 2023, the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) has adopted the GenDi J as one of the stock indices for ESG investments. Nissui has been evaluated and classified as a Group 2 company. -
S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index This is an index designed to measure the performance of companies in the Tokyo Stock Price Index (TOPIX), (the “underlying index”), while overweighting or underweighting those companies that have lower or higher levels of carbon emissions per unit of revenue. It seeks disclosure from major companies and cities around the world on their approaches to climate change and water management, and uses this information to conduct research and ratings. Coller FAIRR Protein Producer Index for 2024 An index based on assessing ESG risks and opportunities specifically targeting livestock and aquaculture companies, provided by the FAIRR Initiative. Nissui was rated as a “medium risk” company. -

ESG Finance Awards Japan The “ESG Finance Awards Japan” launched by the Ministry of the Environment, which has awarded financial institutions and organizations that proactively focus on ESG financing, as well as companies that focus on environmentally sustainable management. It aims to widely share great practices in society and expand ESG financing. Nissui has been selected as an environmentally sustainable company for two consecutive years, 2025 and 2026. MSC Japan Award The “MSC Japan Award” is an award presented by MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) Japan to recognize businesses that have contributed to the promotion of MSC-labeled marine products in Japan. The 46th Food Industry Excellent Company Awards – Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award At the Food Industry Excellent Company Awards, jointly organized by the Japan Food Industry Association and the Organization for Sustainable Food Supply System, Nissui received the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award, the highest award in the Management Innovation type within the food industry division, which recognizes achievements such as the development and dissemination of foods that take nutrition and health into consideration.
The award was given in recognition of the company’s research and product development initiatives related to protein from the fast-twitch skeletal muscles of Alaska pollock.

34th Food Safety, Security and Environment Contribution Award This award is presented by The Japan Food Journal to companies and organizations in the food industry in recognition of pioneering and cutting-edge activities and achievements in areas such as environmental conservation. In 2025, Nissui received the award in recognition of its efforts to reduce plastic as part of its initiatives to reduce environmental impact. -
Tokyo Metropolis “Excellent Company for the Employment of Persons with Disabilities Award” Recognized as a company implementing distinctive and outstanding initiatives in the employment of persons with disabilities, Nissui received the Tokyo Metropolis “Excellent Company for the Employment of Persons with Disabilities Award 2025” (Tokyo Governor’s Award).
This award is presented by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to companies that, in addition to achieving the legally mandated employment rate, undertake exemplary initiatives such as the development of abilities and improvement of working conditions for persons with disabilities.
Nissui’s continuous efforts were highly evaluated, including promoting workplace development that leverages diverse strengths with a focus on “growth and active participation,” encouraging growth through diverse experiences and educational opportunities, and establishing systems for career development.
