The Sustainability Committee and Subcommittee

The Nissui Group is advancing sustainability management to achieve sustainable growth and enhance corporate value. As an organization to promote this initiative, we have established the Sustainability Committee, chaired by the President and composed of all Executive Officers and Outside Directors.
The Sustainability Committee, which convenes six times a year, discusses specific goals, policies, and initiatives related to sustainability-related issues based on reports and proposals from each subcommittee. The outcomes are regularly reported to the Board of Directors, and feedback and advice from the Board are incorporated into the initiatives.
Each sustainability-related issue is addressed cross-functionally by seven subcommittees under the Sustainability Committee, as well as subcommittees under the Executive Committee, the Quality Assurance Committee, and the Business Foundation Risks Committee. These subcommittees are led by chairpersons (executive officers or higher) appointed by the Committee Chair, and their members are designated by each subcommittee chair.

The Sustainability Newsletter

To promote awareness of sustainability, we publish an internal newsletter for employees titled Sustainability Newsletter (formerly CSR Newsletter: Let’s Listen to the Voice of the Sea) two to three times a year. Sustainability Newsletter features global sustainability topics as well as initiatives and outstanding human capital within the Nissui Group.
First launched in April 2016, the publication began simultaneous distribution to overseas Group companies starting in FY2024. To date, 126 issues have been published.

Employee Training

With the aim of instilling activities to promote sustainability and raising awareness of such activities more smoothly within the company, training is conducted periodically for “Sustainability Promotion Members,” one of whom is appointed in each department. Members who participated in the training are required to share the training content in their respective departments at a later date in an effort to instill activities to promote sustainability within the company.
In FY2025, training was conducted 4 times, in which the members participated from all departments of Nissui.

E-Learning Based Comprehension and Recognition Survey

Nissui conducts an annual “Sustainability Comprehension and Recognition Survey” utilizing e-learning to assess the level of awareness and understanding of sustainability among employees. In FY2025, 1,794 individuals responded to the survey, which is targeted at all Nissui executives and employees, including those on temporary assignments. Regarding corporate motivations for engaging in sustainability initiatives, we observed a shift in awareness from factors such as “meeting societal demands” and “protecting the global environment” toward considerations including “preparing for risks” and “becoming a company trusted by society.” We will continue efforts to further enhance sustainability awareness going forward.
